We’ll shoot from 7pm to catch the sunset, through to 1am when the milkyway will arch across the horizon. If we’re lucky we’ll even catch some bioluminescence in the waves.
Specialist equipment is available from Lumix, Samyang, and iOptron . We can provide astro-optimized lenses for all major camera brands.

Capture the Blood Moon from Waitawa Regional Park in Auckland.
This is a rare event. You have just one more opportunity in November 2022, after that you’ll have to wait until 2026 to see it in New Zealand again.
The Blood Moon can be captured in many different ways with many kinds of equipment from basic camera lenses through to huge telescopes and trackers. We’ll work with you to get the best out of the gear you have, and can help in sourcing demo gear or rental equipment for this important evening.

We’ll create stunning day-to-night transitions in the heart of Auckland, using a selection of motion control heads from Syrp to capture amazing moving time lapses.
Learn how to manually adjust your camera for smooth transitions as the light changes, and how to put the whole time-lapse together in post.
We’ll start a couple of hours before sunset, and finish with editing and a beer somewhere close to the shoot.
